Michael Nicolo and Skyler Zurn are the casting directors behind the shows and films actors dream of booking: Obsession, Euphoria, New Girl, Spider Man 2, Avatar: The Last Airbender and many more. Season after season, hit after hit, they’re the ones who spot talent before the rest of the industry catches up. Now they’re bringing that eye to Madrid for a four day intensive.
Over four days, you’ll get direct, in-the-room feedback from the people currently casting hit series, and a practical process that takes you from first read to final performance.
You’ll work both TV and Horror material side by side, sharpening the range every working actor needs: from the naturalistic, character-driven read a network drama demands to the heightened tension a horror scene requires. You’ll leave with a professionally recorded scene for your reel, clarity on your next career moves, and a new professional relationship with the casting directors.

Day 1 — Foundations & Scene Work
Your workshop begins with introductions and an inside look at Michael and Skyler’s casting process.
Prior to the workshop, you’ll receive a curated scene bank and select your primary scene.
You’ll perform your scene for the first time and receive personalized adjustments and actionable notes to begin refining your work.
The evening concludes with an open discussion on the realities of today’s industry, including:
- Building professional materials
- Finding representation
- Audition expectations
- Navigating the current casting landscape
- Career strategy and Q&A
Day 2 — Exploration & Collaboration
This day is dedicated to experimentation and growth.
During breakout sessions, actors are encouraged to bring material that best showcases them—a monologue, song, self-written piece, or another scene. This allows Michael and Skyler to discover different dimensions of each actor’s work while offering individualized feedback in a smaller-group setting.
The second half of the evening focuses on rehearsing your primary scene with fellow actors while Michael and Skyler circulate through the room, coaching performances and refining choices in real time.
Additional industry Q&A will be integrated throughout the evening.
Day 3 — Industry Day
This day shifts the focus from performance to career development.
Each participant will have a personal General Meeting with Michael and Skyler, offering the opportunity to discuss career goals, review headshots, résumé, demo reel, and gain personalized guidance.
The evening concludes with an exclusive online panel featuring special industry guests like agents and producers from Los Angeles and New York, providing firsthand insight into today’s entertainment industry.
Remaining time will be dedicated to scene rehearsal and final adjustments.
Day 4 — Final performance
The workshop culminates with professionally recorded final performances of your primary scene.
Actors will apply everything they’ve learned throughout the intensive in a polished, camera-ready performance suitable for their reel.
The final session concludes with feedback, reflection, and next steps for continuing your career development.

Skyler Zurn
Skyler Zurn Skyler Zurn is an exciting, next-gen casting director with a growing slate of diverse film and television projects coming off the horror phenomenon Obsession, which is the highest grossing film of the century. Recent credits include Obsession (Dir. Curry Barker / Focus Features), Fall 2 (Lionsgate), Dog Years (Prod. Aaron Boyd), The Big Game (Prod. Jim Cummings), and Nightfall (Dir. Zac Villanueva, fresh off assisting Zach Cregger). She is currently casting multiple features including Anything But Ghosts (Spooky Pictures, Blumhouse, Divide & Conquer), The Blondes (Spooky Pictures & Blumhouse), The Color of Blood (Emma Tammi & Henry Jacobson), and Imago (TeaShop Productions) — with many more exciting projects on the horizon. Before stepping into the casting director role, Skyler worked at top-tier casting offices on acclaimed projects such as The Fall Guy (NBCUniversal), Equalizer 3 (Sony), Violent Night (NBCUni), Laid (Peacock), Euphoria (HBO), Love Lies Bleeding (A24), Glass Onion: Knives Out (Netflix), Pam & Tommy (Hulu), and This Is Us (NBC), among many others. She has collaborated with leading casting directors including Telsey + Co, Betty Mae Casting, Colloff/Nicolo, April Webster, Sharon Klein, and Rich Delia — contributing to over 35 projects across major studios and networks.
Michael Nicolo
Michael began his casting career as an assistant with CFB Casting, contributing to fan-favorite series including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly. He later collaborated with renowned casting director Dianne Crittenden as her associate director on feature films such as Spider-Man 2, Elektra, and The World's Fastest Indian. In 2010, Michael partnered with fellow casting director Anya Colloff to form Colloff/Nicolo Casting. Together, they earned critical acclaim for their work on the hit comedy New Girl, receiving a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Casting in a Comedy Series, as well as Artios Award nominations in 2012 and 2013. Their diverse and celebrated credits include Ben and Kate, Veronica Mars (2019), Young Rock, Laid, Party Down, and Fresh Off the Boat. They currently cast the popular series Animal Control, High Potential, and the upcoming Every Year After. Most recently, Michael and Anya won an Artios Award in 2025 for their casting on Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Brenden Rodríguez

Todos los participantes se irán con escenas grabadas profesionales, perfectas para su reel o para enviar a castings.
INFORMACIÓN PRÁCTICA
- Fechas: 26, 27, 28 y 29 de septiembre
- Horario: viernes, sábado y domingo de 10.00 a 19.00h + lunes de 10.00 a 15.00h

Formato del taller:
Día 1:
Cada actriz y actor deberá preparar un monólogo acorde a su perfil. Ese monólogo será presentado y grabado el primer día.
Reciben feedback e indicaciones de su monólogo.
Se les asignan compañeros de escena y nuevas escenas para trabajar en pareja.
Día 2:
Sesión de preguntas y respuestas sobre temas generales de la industria: castings, audiciones, producción, representación, etc.
Charlas en vivo vía Zoom con profesionales de USA: agentes, productores y creativos.
Día 3:
Primer ensayo de las escenas asignadas.
Feedback detallado y notas para mejorar las escenas de cara a la grabación final.
Día 4:
Presentación final de las escenas, aplicando las correcciones del día anterior. Grabación de las mismas.
Cierre del taller con espacio para preguntas y orientación profesional.

- La selección de participantes es por convocatoria y las plazas son limitadas.

PRECIO Y FORMAS DE PAGO

- Dos pagos: Primer pago (475€), reserva de plaza + segundo pago (475€) el 1 de septiembre.
- Cuatro pagos: Primer pago (275€), reserva de plaza + segundo pago (275€) el 1 de agosto + tercer pago (275€) el 25 de agosto + cuarto pago (275€) el 15 de septiembre.
Preguntas frecuentes
Se debe hacer un uso responsable de reserva de plaza. La cancelación a última hora supone un problema tanto para tus compañeros como para las personas que se han quedado fuera del grupo.
Si finalmente no puedes venir al curso, puedes solicitar una devolución o un cambio por otro curso, siempre que sea antes de los 30 días previos a la celebración del mismo.
Una vez finalizado el curso te enviamos a través de la aplicación un link de descarga con todo el material que grabaste (tanto tus planos como los contraplanos para que puedas montar las escenas)
